Flaky Savory Chinese Curry Puffs

These curry puffs have a delicious curried beef & lamb filling and are wrapped in a flaky puff pastry. This recipe makes 12 puffs and is easy to make. Adapted from woksoflife curry beef puff.

What you need

tbsp water

cup beef broth

lb ground lamb

oz puff pastry

yellow onion

tbsp curry powder

tsp cayenne pepper
egg

tsp turmeric powder

clove garlic clove

tsp cumin powder
tbsp cornstarch

tsp salt

lb ground beef
Instructions
1. In a pan over medium-high heat, heat a couple tablespoons of oil, then add garlic and onions and cook until translucent. 2. Add beef and lamb. Cook until opaque, then add spices and mix until combined. 3. Add cornstarch and beef broth slurry and cook for another minute until it’s thick. 4. Remove and set aside to cool to room temperature. Meanwhile defrost puff pastry if frozen. 5. Cut puff pastry into squares approximately 5”x5”. Place about 1 tablespoon of beef onto center of pastry, then form into a triangle and use the edge of a fork to crimp edges. Place onto a lined baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pastry and beef. 6. Place formed curry puffs into the fridge while you preheat oven to 425°F. 7. Once oven is preheated, brush puffs with egg wash and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.View original recipe
