Hot Pink Pita Bread

Soft, chewy, pita bread that’s naturally colored with beets. This recipe makes six 7-inch flatbreads and requires no stand mixer.

oz instant yeast

oz sugar

oz water

Instructions
1: Blend the roasted beets and water in a blender until smooth. 2: In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except for the olive oil. Knead until everything comes together. 3: Add the olive oil and knead until smooth. 4: Shape the dough into a ball and place it into a bowl. Cover and let rise for 1.5-2 hours or until doubled in size. 5: Divide the dough into 6 equal sections (or more for smaller flatbreads). 6: Shape each section into balls, cover, and let rest for 20-30 minutes until they are slightly puffy. 7: Flatten each dough ball by rolling it out to be roughly 7 inches in diameter. 8: Heat a large pan over medium heat and cook the first side for 3-5 minutes or until the top starts to become bubbly. Flip and cook the other side for 3-5 minutes. Flip one or two more times to ensure even cooking then remove from heat. Lightly brush with olive oil.View original recipe
